Acessibilidade: Combinação de elementos construtivos e operacionais que permitem a qualquer pessoa com deficiência entrar, deslocar-se, sair, orientar-se e comunicar-se mediante o uso seguro, autônomo e confortável de espaços construídos, móveis e equipamentos, transportes, informação e comunicações.
Aliado(a): Pessoa que não se identifica abertamente como parte do grupo LGBT+, mas que apoia os direitos civis e a igualdade de gênero, e é reconhecida pelos membros das comunidades em questão como defensora de seus direitos.
Bissexualidade: Refere-se à atração sexual e emocional por ambos os sexos, seja simultaneamente ou alternativamente.
Armário (estar no; estar dentro do): Experiência social das pessoas LGBT+, quando são forçadas a esconder sua identidade real do ambiente em que vivem, vivenciando-a em segredo ou isolamento, razão pela qual fala-se em viver ou estar no armário. Deficiência: É o que resulta da interação entre pessoas com alterações, limitações e/ou restrições físicas e as barreiras resultantes de atitudes ou do entorno físico, que evitam a participação plena na sociedade e em igualdade de condições com os demais. Discriminação: Visão dominante pela qual se assume que um grupo de pessoas é superior ao outro por qualquer motivo. Qualquer distinção, exclusão ou restrição que – com base em origem étnica ou nacional, sexo, idade, deficiência, condição social ou econômica, condições de saúde, gravidez, idioma, religião, opiniões, preferências sexuais, estado civil ou qualquer outro fator – termine por anular o reconhecimento ou o exercício de direitos e a igualdade real de oportunidades de um grupo.

Gênero: Conjunto de ideias, comportamentos e atribuições que uma dada sociedade considera pertinentes a cada sexo. Inclusão. Significa compreender, aceitar e promover os pontos fortes das qualidades e diferenças que tornam cada indivíduo único e singular, promovendo práticas inclusivas e proporcionando igualdade de acesso a oportunidades e informações.
Intersexual: Pessoas intersexuais são indivíduos que nascem com variações nas características sexuais (que podem incluir, mas não se limitam àquelas contidas em cromossomos, perfis hormonais ou genitais) que não se encaixam na definição típica ou tradicional de um corpo feminino ou masculino.
Sair do Armário: É uma metáfora para quando pessoas LGBT+ decidem falar e/ou vivenciar sua orientação sexual ou identidade de gênero. Sair do armário é um termo que pode ser aplicado a uma ou mais áreas: família, amigos, trabalho ou publicamente, por exemplo, como quando se começa com uma identidade online de acordo com a escolha individual.
Assédio discriminatório: Conduta abusiva que se manifesta através de diferentes comportamentos e que, em essência, ataca a integridade física e/ou psicológica do indivíduo.
Política de diversidade: Implementação de ações que promovam o reconhecimento das diferenças presentes em cada indivíduo. Baseia-se na ideia de que a diversidade não é apenas valiosa, mas desejável. Reconhecer e promover a diversidade cultural ajuda na comunicação entre pessoas com diferentes origens e estilos de vida, levando a um melhor conhecimento e compreensão e, portanto, a um melhor desempenho organizacional.
Gay-friendly: Adjetivo para caracterizar uma pessoa, lugar, estrutura, organização ou sistema que seja amigável com os homossexuais e/ou sua ideologia. LGBT+. Sigla para o grupo formado por lésbicas, gays, bissexuais, transgêneros e todos aqueles que se identificam como trans. O símbolo de mais (+) representa todas as identidades não-heterossexuais e nãocisgêneros, incluindo queer, intersexo, assexual e outras.
Homofobia: Hostilidade explicita ou implícita e algumas vezes violenta contra pessoas homossexuais. A homofobia se caracteriza pela agressão (física ou verbal) ou a discriminação.
Homossexualidade: : Refere-se à atração sexual e emocional por uma pessoa do mesmo sexo. A palavra se aplica a homens e mulheres, ainda que as mulheres também sejam conhecidas como lésbicas.
