ENGIE, Transportadora Associada de Gás – TAG and Jirau Energia have opened up the enrollment season for the 2024 Trainee Program with affirmative external vacancies for women. The vacancies are available in every region of Brazil and candidates must identify as women and have earned degrees in engineering, administration, economics or information technology between December 2020 and December 2023. Some vacancies also require intermediate command of the English language.

“Diversity evolution within corporations has become a crucial factor. More diverse teams provide productivity gains, add new ideas and, above all, share distinctive life experiences that add to corporate performance, generating value for all. This is why we at ENGIE uphold the company’s purpose of capturing and developing talent,” said ENGIE Brasil’s CEO, Mauricio Bähr.

ENGIE, a global reference for low-carbon energy and services, has as one of its goals to make sure that 50% of its workforce will be comprised of women by 2030. The affirmative-vacancies edition of the program began in 2022, when ENGIE Brasil hired its first team of women engineers. The class completed the program in August 2023, after which every participant was hired, an important achievement for the professionals, who had chosen careers in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.

“The trainee program is part of the Women’s Careers Journey, which was structured to enable achievement of the gender equality goal. Aside from the program itself, which 13 new engineers completed in 2023 and were hired by the Company, we also offer trade programs for women who live in the communities neighboring our operations, training programs on the electric energy sector for engineering students, and a series of in-house career development and acceleration actions,” said Luciana Nabarrete, Chief People, Processes and Sustainability Officer at ENGIE Brasil Energia

“TAG has been walking its growth path in the Brazilian natural gas market, driven by a culture where diversity is a key pillar. At present, 42% of our employees are women, 45% of whom hold leadership positions. We aim to foster a more plural working environment, one open to all forms of diversity (age, education, race, culture, gender, and ideas), valuing our greatest asset: people,” underscored TAG’s CEO, Gustavo Labanca.”

“At Jirau Energia, it is our purpose to develop people. Integrating this mission with our diversity-evolution objectives enables a significant contribution to our social pillars and fosters an increasingly inclusive, collaborative, egalitarian and respectful working environment. Making headway on diverse teams also enables gaining ground in terms of relevant and sustainable results for the company,” said Edson Silva, Jirau Energia’s CEO.
