With a reservoir of 139 km2, the plant has generator units with vertical turbines of the Francis type, each producing 150 MW, totaling 450 MW of installed capacity, and a physical guarantee of 260.8 average MW for commercialization.

The Cana Brava HPP is certified according to ISO 9001 and 14001 quality management and environmental standards and the OHSAS 18001 occupational health and safety standard. In 2003, the Company began operating the plant remotely from the control room at Salto Santiago HPP and in 2017, this control was transferred to the Generation Operations Center (COG), located at ENGIE’s head office in Florianópolis (SC).
