José Gelázio da Rocha SHP is located on the Ponte de Pedra river, municipality of Rondonópolis (MT).) It went into operation in 2007 and was integrated into ENGIE’s generator complex in 2008 together with the Rondonópolis SHP. Its concession agreement expires in 2032.

José Gelázio da Rocha SHP has three generator units with horizontal turbines of the Francis type each producing 7.9 MW, representing a total of 23.7 MW. The plant has a 9.2 average MW physical guarantee for commercialization.

In 2016, the Company began operating the plant remotely from the Generation Operations Center (COG), located at ENGIE’s head office in Florianópolis (SC).
