Nova Aurora Photovoltaic Plant

The Nova Aurora Photovoltaic Plant is located in the municipality of Tubarão, in the south of the state of Santa Catarina. One of the first photovoltaic solar plants to be integrated into the National Interconnected System (SIN), Cidade Azul was designed and implemented within the scope of ENGIE Brasil’s Research and Development Program and went into operation in 2014.

As part of the R&D program, the plant employs different technologies. Its installed capacity of 3 MW is divided into three circuits of 1 MW each with three distinct photovoltaic module technologies: amorphous microcrystalline silicon, polycrystalline silicon and copper, indium and gallium selenide (CIGS).
