Umburanas Wind Complex

The Umburanas Wind Complex, in the northern state of Bahia, municipalities of Sento Sé and Umburanas, will be the Company’s largest wind project in Brazil, at 605 MW in installed capacity. Construction of its first phase began in November 2017 and was completed in April 2019 with the entry into commercial operation, providing 360 MW in installed capacity. The Complex has 144 2.5 MW wind turbines distributed across 18 wind farms. The wind farms’ operating license is valid to 2050.

In 2019, remote operation of the Umburanas Wind Complex began at the Generation Operations Center (COG), located in ENGIE’s registered offices in Florianópolis (state of Santa Catarina).
